Plaça del Mercat
Plaça del Mercat, perhaps it is one of the busiest and most emblematic meeting points in Palma, the connection formed by these two squares between La Rambla, Calle Unió and Avenida Jaume III. Majestic and imposing, on each side of the square the building of the Audience of the Ministry of Justice, the Gran Hotel, a beautiful modernist building of great historical and architectural value, built in 1903 and today headquarters of CaixaForum and the also modernist Can Casasayas, the residential complex completed in 1911 on both sides of Calle Santacilia. Several centuries-old bakeries and patisseries invite you to admire and taste their products on their terraces, with an excellent range of restaurants, tapas bars and cafes, complemented by the Principal Theater and its concert, dance and opera series.
