Sant Francesc
The Basilica of Sant Francesc is one of the largest in Palma after the cathedral, in Gothic and Renaissance style and with a beautiful medieval cloister, therefore one of the favorites for weddings among Palma's residents. It also houses a college of Franciscan monks and the tomb of the philosopher, writer and linguist Ramon Llull. Its surroundings grew as a place of residence for nobles and well-to-do personalities, a neighbor of the exquisite Calatrava. After the church, the Plaza Quadrado stands out as the starting point of ancient streets, such as Samaritana Street, which is worth visiting to enjoy its old buildings with green shutters and also the traces of Modernism, as in Can Barceló and many other genuine houses with its patios and gardens behind forged lattices. Some are today impressive hotels.
