Alcossebre
It is a Spanish population center belonging to the municipality of Alcalá de Chivert, in the province of Castellón. It consists of two traditional nuclei, Alcocebre and Capicorp; and various urbanizations, among which Las Fuentes and El Pinar stand out. Alcossebre is a small coastal town that consists of ten kilometers of coastline spread over five beaches and various virgin coves, being one of the few towns that is not fully urbanized, like most coastal towns. It is located on the Costa del Azahar, bordering the municipalities of Peñíscola (to the north) and Torreblanca (to the south). In addition to having the coastal area, it is characterized by having various viewpoints offered by the mountains belonging to the Sierra de Irta natural area. Along its ten kilometers of coastline there are five large sandy beaches: the Charger (Carregador), the Roman, the Moro, the Manyetes or Tropicana and the Las Fuentes, which have the blue flag as a distinctive quality. This last beach has freshwater springs, which arise from it and are of great ecological value. You can also find several coves: Tres Playas, which is a set of three coves separated by rock formations whose bed is made of rock; Cala del Moro, which is separated from the beach of the same name by a small dune; Cala Mundina and Cala Blanca, located in the Ribamar area, in the vicinity of the Irta lighthouse. Las Fuentes also has a marina, and to the north lies the Sierra de Irta Natural Park. Near the town, on a peak that dominates the southern end of the Sierra de Irta, is the Hermitage of Santa Lucía and San Benito. The Columbretes Islands, of volcanic origin, are located off the coast and can be seen in the distance when the weather is good. Alcocebre is accessible through exit 44 of the Autopista del Mediterráneo (AP-7). The N-340 also passes through the vicinity. The Alcalá de Chivert Station is located 7 kilometers from the center of Peñíscola.
