The approval of the Housing Plan enters its final stretch. The Government will take this measure to the Council of Ministers shortly. The development plans were to approve this program in January, but finally delayed its implementation to include "measures in agreement with the autonomous communities" that allow "expedite the implementation of aid."
To avoid that this delay affects the beneficiaries of the program, the Housing Plan will be retroactive. That is, the aid may be requested with effect on January 1. This was announced yesterday by the Minister of Development, Íñigo de la Serna, at the Congress of Deputies where he added that the autonomous communities will be required to co-finance 30% of the program, proposed in May 2017.
These are the main aids included in the plan:
Up to 10,800 euros
The Housing Plan collects grants of up to 10,800 euros for those under 35 years of age who decide to acquire a property, as long as they do not have a property, their income is less than three times the Multiple Income Public Income Indicator (IPREM) and the property will be your habitual residence.
Payment of up to 50% of the rent
The Government intends to counteract the price increase registered by the rental in Spain during the last years. To do this, it establishes the financing of part of the lease for young people and people over 65 years of age, who will be able to receive grants of up to 50% of the amount of rent for a flat. All this as long as the monthly rent is less than 900 euros.
