Plaza España
Plaza España it is the neuralgic meeting and communications center of Palma as it houses the Intermodal Station, the stop of most of the urban and regional public transport lines, the metro and the prestigious Sóller train, which connects the city with one of the most beautiful villages of the Serra de Tramontana, crossing the Mallorcan countryside and the mountains. It is also the point of confluence of the main arteries and important shopping streets and the "kilometer 0" of all Mallorca.
Surrounded by cozy terraces, bars and restaurants, the scene of Christmas markets and concerts during the patron saint festivities, historic and emblematic buildings coexist with others of new construction and avant-garde style. Barely fifty meters away, the diverse offer of fresh and prepared victuals from the Olivar market, as well as ecological purchases in the Plaza de los Patines delights residents and visitors, while its streets make up a network of shops and shopping centers in spread spectrum. A few minutes away, the Parque de las Estaciones is an oasis and an ideal meeting point sheltered by its trees and children's play areas. In the middle of the square stands the equestrian sculpture of the conqueror of the once walled city: King Jaime I. However, it is an area in continuous revaluation that welcomes a large part of the institutions and public and private organizations and is a true luxury for those who decide to set up residence and invest, just a few minutes from the airport, the sea and all the services of a boiling Palma where you can still remember that you are on «the island of calm».
