Sabadell
Sabadell is a Catalan city in the province of Barcelona, current capital of the Vallés Occidental region. It concentrates an important population of Catalonia, it is the fifth municipality with almost 217,000 inhabitants. It is located in the interior of the province, next to the River Ripoll and about 20 kilometers from the capital. The city was the protagonist of industrial development in Catalonia in the mid-19th century, becoming the most important wool-producing city in Spain. Today there are still numerous constructions that are part of that era: chimneys, steamers, mills... Many of them have now been converted into places such as youth areas or libraries. These constructions left an industrial character in the city, but today it has evolved into modern buildings, avant-garde museums and wide avenues and neighborhoods.
