At aProperties we have the most stylish homes and, for this reason, we are always up-to-date with the latest decorative trends. Today, we bring you the top trends in decoration for this autumn/winter:
Colours
The time has come to say goodbye to the snowy palettes that have dominated homes in recent years with the typical shades of white, off-white, and beige to embrace brighter colours.
We make way for green, in all its shades: browns, muted and dark, which merge with jungle tones, both for walls and furniture, upholstery and tiles, elevating the aesthetics of the spaces.
Terracotta pinks, highly compatible with Mediterranean inspiration, and maroon purples, which give intensity to any room, are particularly attractive for bringing serenity to a bedroom.
And we cannot forget electric blue, which has been a trend for some time now and is used on controlled surfaces to bring energy to a room: we see it more in furniture or details and not so much on walls or rooms.
The seventies
The 1970s were a sober decade, marked by the importance of lines and textures. Nature and relaxation took on a renewed importance, giving prominence to textiles, wood and plants.
The 70s also boast a series of signature design objects that have become omnipresent on Instagram: lamps and sofas.
Diverse materials and textures
The interiors of the most special homes increasingly resemble a cabin, with wood panelling lining the walls. Wood is mixed and matched with furniture in total looks that inspire minimalist kitchen spaces with the warmth of wood.
On the other hand, velvet is back in the home. It arrives in the form of sofas and armchairs, immediately upgrading the look of a space, but it even gives lamps a special effect.
Finally, terrazzo is back: a material, by the way, that comes from the recycling of other elements, which becomes more aesthetic and returns to occupy the floor, countertops, and sometimes even the walls, of the most modern homes that dare to look at it with new eyes.
Rooms with personality
Kitchens have tended to expand, to become the centre of communal living, and now the process is being reversed, and they are once again becoming simple and functional spaces, but no less aesthetically pleasing for that. Furthermore, the kitchen is also experimenting with wooden finishes, and after a time when displaying some objects on shelves was a trend, now everything is returning to the inside of the cupboards. The same notes of colour that stand out in the interior of the house shine in the kitchen.
And from the kitchen to the bathroom, today we see it reconfigured with elements that we could not have imagined before and filled with decorative intent through numerous examples. Plants, paintings, wallpaper, golden taps, vintage roll-top bathtubs with legs, wooden panels and even rugs.
The coolest furniture
The two protagonists with a strong personality are the sofas and the lamps: the infinite modular sofas, which trace whimsical corners, lengthen to form a chaise longue and offer unexpected reading spots. The once discreet ceiling lamps have now become voluminous gestures of style, with the responsibility of giving personality to a space.
